It’s been a busy week, but I wanted to catch everyone up!
Charlie finally got to come home on Tuesday. He ended up needing a second antibiotic shot since his wound had taken so long to close, and it seemed to help him make some real progress on his healing. He is getting around really well – note the grainy photo of him on his favorite spot on the back of the couch where he can look out the window!
I’m still keeping him in the bathroom when I’m at work or asleep, but he gets to come out and spend time with the family in the evenings, and is doing really well. He is pretty much back to his old self, behavior-wise! Hopefully he will be able to get the rest of his staples out by the end of the week- we are being conservative with them since he reopened the incision so many times.
It is so great to have him back home! Now if only the path report would come in…
WELCOME HOME CHARLIE!! Oh my goodness, you have really been through some “challenges”! The pictures really show what those challenges look like too! And these of pictures of your incision HEALING! I can only imagine what it looked like before!
But you know what? You still are a very handsome boy with a very sweet face…sooo sweet!!
Sounds like you are feeling so much better and returning to doing some of your favorite things like lounging on some comfy bedding and soaking up the loving and spoiling!
Keep us updated when you can. And remember, Charlie doesn’t give a rip about any ole’ “report” ! Charlie is feeling great and that is the best “report” ever!
Hugs to all!

Yay! I bet Charlie is super happy to be home:) Glad to hear he is doing so well and nearly back to his old self! Sounds like he is well on his way to rockin’ it on 3!
I’m so happy Charlie is home. Is he leaving the stitches alone now? Do you think he fussed with the incision because it was infected?
Enjoy getting your life back to normal.

Oh my. I have so much sympathy for you and for Charlie. And my fingers are crossed for a good report.
My Freya was a jumper and when she got out of the vets after her amputation I had actually reorganised a spare room into ‘our’ room by putting a mattress on the floor for me to sleep on with her (I am such a sook!) and moving out everything she could jump up on. It gave me something to do the night she was at the vets and keep my mind off all the worst case scenarios.
Of course she escaped the room first chance!! And she looked so proud when she hopped up on the couch the first time – I was a wreck you understand but she was victorious.
She also destroyed her collars too. I ended up leaving hers off and keeping an eye on her grooming. I was able to have days off work and it was Xmas time as well so she was pretty much improved by New Years.
Keep going strong
